2022 Officer Candidate Bios

Marylee Putnam, President
Marylee Putnam and her husband Bob have lived on Hillbrook Way since 1987. Marylee has worked in both the public and private sectors as a sector in training and development, human resources, education, and administration. She was the president of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) when it was the largest chapter in the world, managing a 1,500-volunteer organization. She was president of the Country Squire Women’s Club for a total of seven years and held other board positions as well. In her last position before retirement, Marylee managed a $6M federal grant that helped people with barriers to employment receive training and obtain competitive jobs. Marylee has served as LRSCA president since 2016.

Whitney McGinniss, Vice President
Whitney McGinniss and her family became first-time homeowners and residents of Laurel Ridge in 2017. After looking at nearly 50 houses in the north Decatur area, they decided this would be the best area for raising a family. Whitney's daughter attends Druid Hills Middle School, and the family is currently hosting a foreign exchange student attending Druid Hills High. Whitney holds a Master of Public Policy from Georgia State University and works as a grants manager at a social services nonprofit. Her husband, Brad, is a Health Scientist at the Centers for Disease Control. Both have a proud history of community and government service, including serving overseas in the US Peace Corps. In her spare time, Whitney enjoys gardening, jewelry making, and current events. Whitney has previously served as the LRSCA Treasurer and as Chair of the Road Infrastructure Committee.  As Vice President, Whitney would like to focus on social events and rebuilding our membership post-COVID.

Paula Anderson, Secretary
Paula Anderson has lived in DeKalb County since 1995.  She and her husband Kenneth moved to Country Squire Lane in 2010.  She served as President of the Country Squire Women’s Club for three years and has held other board positions in CSWC ever since moving to the neighborhood.  Paula was a faculty member in Emory University’s Department of Health & Physical Education for 16 years, spending her last seven years there as Department Chair and Curriculum Coordinator.  She looks forward to using her communication skills to help keep the LRSCA membership informed and engaged with neighborhood and community-wide issues, projects, and opportunities.
